Opening the gates

The fobs are great, but did you know that you can use your mobile to open the gates when you are approaching. Please email Mark or Andy - and they will let you have the number.

If you haven’t got your mobile on you, you can get out of the car and enter the gate override code into the keypad – which again Mark or Andy will supply and the gates will open.

The green button on the wall just next to the pedestrian gate is designed for the refuse collection and works between 8:00 and 5:00, Monday to Friday. Quite useful to tell delivery drivers too if you’re not going to be in!

However – the gates are designed to keep us all safe so be careful who you give this information to!

When the gates don't open...

There have been a few instances when the gates haven't opened - you know - the time that you really need to be somewhere! Basically the gates sometimes get confused as people go through them - and need rebooting.

These are the top tips:

  1. Reverse away from the gate and approach again slowly

  2. If you look at the picture below and or the last page of the manual (download here) there is an opening on either side of each gate at the very bottom corner near the hinge. You slide the little door open insert the key turn in the direction of the arrow shown et voila the gate can be pushed open!

Who is the gardner?

Tom Whitehouse, 07508 201997

The gardener comes every other week between February and November - for the leaves! and subject to weather conditions. Tom cuts the grass around the horse chestnut tree and front gardens of each house. Tom will also weed treat including the The Limes front boundary and trim shrubs and hedges in front gardens if residents wish. This is included in the monthly management fee.

In order to keep costs down he will use residents green bins to dispose of grass cuttings, hedge trimmings etc.

He has a standard list of jobs to cover on each visit but If you would like Tom to do any other garden work whilst he is here you can contact him and pay for this separately.
